Something sowing that making real cash is possible in second life showing what is hot or up and coming etc With some sort of a real credited business college or any other type of colleges so you could learn by using your avi in a class room and receipt credit just like in the real
I hope they find ways to deal with griefers better so that we do not have to limit what we can do out of fear of what griefers will do with those tools. As a content creator, I would be willing to sacrifice some of my anonymity to achieve that. For example, it could be a requirement that only those who have verified identity or attached payment information could save a script or place a script in an object. Those who created griefing objects could then be more easily identified in real life, and dealt with.

I am Creator of Jp Collection Yachts in Secondlife We have over 100 Boats in our collection I have been aware of this side project from LL for a few weeks now and I do not approve Of this BUT in the same sence I hope it keeps out the Stolen content thta is found all over secondife One can easly go purchase a model from a website and import it to sl and sell it calling it there own.. It make us hard creators that spend 5 months on a project to just not want to bother when some bloke comes along and uploads a mesh yacht that is 100% amazing since it is movie quality and they never did a thing to create it ? Shame on LL for forgetting about what made them what they are today
One idea I had was to close down market place. Now before anyone shoots me down.Let me explain.Rather than people placing their products on market place they would need to have land or to rent a shop so that they could display their goods.That increases land purchase.Then there are the off sets.The advertising needed,The photography needed,etc..It would make people walk the streets of SL rather than scrolling the pages of market place.It could possible promote new business. Second idea could be the Firestorm buy into second life as an owner operator.I know one thing Id hate to have to learn to use a new viewer.But whether we like it or not LL will do what they want for profitability.
as for keeping second life fresh i was really liking the newest fitted mesh coming out and plans for new mesh avatars with more skeletal joints and realistic movement. not to mention the avatar choices at creation reeeeally need to be upgraded. These are the first impressions to new players and those are just so out dated!
I am a homestead sim owner/ lessee. I have owned the sim for past 6 years. Basically it is a second life home. I am in second life because I have dreams.. dreams of what rl cannot give, but in SL, it comes true.
Change is something that will come and i dont mind changes as long as issues are fixed. I love second life so im willing to give the new platform a try because of it. Things that i would like to see done (1) Griefing. not even existing its horrible for everyone (2) The use of stalker and spy huds. I cant tell you how many people i know that have been bullied out of SL because they were being stalked and griefed from the time they logged in to the time they logged off. Some people have become crazy with these things. (3) Alternate accounts should stay as is many people need those accounts to run multiple businesses . Roleplayers and people that come back to make a fresh start this is something vital and very much needed. (4) Copybot issues are still alive and thriving this needs to not even exist on the new platform (5)My final request would be to please let people keep there stuff that they have invested in for so many years if there is no transfer of inventory many will be angry and hurt not only because of the money but because these things are special and sentimental. 100% agree with Caemlyn Witherspoon. there are alot of other ways that money can be brought in .
4. What can do these things without breaking existing content and without requiring changes in LL policies Users want and need their own space. Having some sort of pocket dimension or alternate island or something, that exists within the framework of the Second Life framework would be a huge kick in the right direction. Giving people their own space (and limiting linden transactions to the second life grid) would streamline what the main grid was being used for (business/entertainment) and give users what they want without jeopardizing the security of the linden dollar.
if i go to London second life there are a bunch of shops selling only sl goods this is not good ennough i want to go into a super market look at the product in sl new platform buy it and its deliveryed to my front door in real life it will make second life bigger than amazon
if i put my post code from real life into sl my house should appear on the grid which i can then decorate linking my real life house to second life will make me closer to the people i meet in my community
if i play any of the latest games out there they look cool but sl looks dated so make it look cool by making it look real as in real life if google earth can map the exterior of buildings im sure sl could use this to make it look real to i want to use sl to go on holiday from real life so if i can walk arround newyork but in sl as it really look that would be really cool. i no it can be done as ive seen the videos on youtube and they have been working on it so if sl got behind the idea it could happen make second life real and it will become second life for real
personally i think the move without being able to take our inventories from the existing secondlife, is going to lose a LOT of people. ive put lots of money, which i dont have much of into sl over the years as a form of entertainment, and i tell you when on a very limited income, and disabled its hard to get much for your money. Not making it open source and available to third parties is also a big mistake, because many many people use a third party viewer whether due to old computers, low level video cards no longer supported by LL or better a better overall user interface.. or in the case of a TON of people, the RLV factor. without my inventory and without my RLV ability i would see absolutely no reason to go to the new SL platform, and would take my money to another similar type program that might pop up. As far as revenue goes, maybe finding a cheaper alternative to land prices, i cant possibly afford a sim of my own, and have no insentive to pay rent to LL on a whole sim when it costs the equivelant of almost half my monthly income to do so. lower land costs, and youll have more people willing to pay say 80 bucks for a class A sim with x number of people allowed at once.. 60 for a class B sim that holds c.number.. ect ect.. the majority of your users would love a small home where they can hang out with 10 or so friends without paying a small fortune, that they also have estate rights ect ect.. there are ways to make money if they really fiddled around with it some, without robbing people like me blind every month. but please please please dont take away 3rd party viewers! I for one cant seem to run the Standard viewer as is even on a new computer, and cant afford a higher end video card on my income.
Guys, once again. I respect your input but you are not telling me anything I do not actually know. I do not need to look at her profile, other people will however. I know that things like that are expensive in rl and I did not say I want to press legal charges, all I said is that this is not legal. What sucks is that two advisors seem to think that this sort of behavior is alright or at least something that no one can do something about. What sort of message is that? Now I am not quiting or anything, I am thankful for the outlet that sl provides and if there is nothing else that can be done or said then alright but do dwell on it. Someone who runs a sim in your game, pays you real world money to do it and not a pocket change either, get slandered in your game by someone who feels entitled for voice and right to make up false claims, does not support the game as much as we do even by a fraction and gets favored? I know there are protocols for everything, but at times we got to do whats actually right thing to do, especially when you have clear reasoning and backup of real life law to do it. I do not understand why things like that are allowed when all I am asking is to take down profile picks of someone.
